East Durham College Awarded £881,000 to Help Boost Skills in County Durham
East Durham College has been awarded £881,000 to help County Durham employers boost skills in their workforce and overcome skills gaps affecting their organisations. Following the successful bid to Durham County Council, East Durham College has been awarded the funds to help local businesses, located in South West Durham and East Durham, with tailored training solutions to help develop their employees.

£3.6 million skills training boost for the North East
The North East is set to benefit from a huge skills training boost, as colleges and universities share a £3.6 million pot through the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF), focused on the skills requirements of businesses located in Sunderland, Gateshead, South Tyneside and County Durham identified in the North East Local Skills Improvement Plan (NELSIP).

The North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) has confirmed that the North East Local Skills Improvement Plan (NELSIP) has been approved and East Durham College has been selected as the lead applicant in the delivery of the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF).
