The North East is set to benefit from a huge skills training boost, as colleges and universities share a £3.6 million pot through the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF), focused on the skills requirements of businesses located in Sunderland, Gateshead, South Tyneside and County Durham identified in the North East Local Skills Improvement Plan (NELSIP).

The North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) has confirmed that the North East Local Skills Improvement Plan (NELSIP) has been approved and East Durham College has been selected as the lead applicant in the delivery of the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF).

East Durham College's Houghall Campus is constantly changing and evolving, adapting to new challenges and adopting new practices to ensure its students have all the skills they need to make a success of their future.

East Durham College is proud to announce their A-level students have once again achieved exceptional results this year. Two students have even secured admission to Oxford and Cambridge universities, which is a first for East Durham Sixth Form (ED6).
