This part time course in cutting men's hair is designed to provide you with an understanding of the basic skills you need to cut men's hair using uniform and graduated techniques.

If a candidate has not completed any previous accredited related qualifications they must also complete the Level 2 Award in health and safety alongside the technical award.

Further study options after this course
Further study options after this course are the Level 2 Diploma in Barbering techniques to gain a full understanding of the requirements of a barbering trainee.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements are a minimum of 3 A-C or grade 4 or above. Or previous qualifications in hairdressing.
Our entry requirements are in place to support our learners in achieving their qualifications.
How is this course assessed?
The course is assessed with a portfolio an end test and two practical assessments.
Learner that need to achieve the health and safety unit will require an additional end test.
Learners will work on mannequin heads to practice but must work on realistic paying clients to achieve their final assessments.
When does the course start?
The course starts on Monday 13.01.25 and runs through to 24.03.25. Times are 9am to 12pm.
Length of course
The length of the course is 10 weeks at 3 hrs per week on a Monday daytime.
Delivery takes place in the Barbering salon with practical and theory work included.
