This course will help you develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in preparation for the next level course, an apprenticeship or employment.
If you're aged 16-25, not in education, training or employment, and you're looking to kick-start your future, then this is the course for you!
On this 14-week programme, you will gain practical skills and experience, an industry-accredited qualification, and grow in confidence.
Starting Tuesday 22nd April, this course gives you a fantastic opportunity to re-engage with college life in a fun, friendly environment.

Start a New College Experience this April
This 14-week course runs at both our Peterlee and Houghall Campuses, which means you can choose the campus that best suits your needs.
You will also receive free bus travel, credit towards your lunch and snacks to be spent in our on-site cafes. You could also be eligible for a student bursary to support any other costs associated with this course.
This exciting programme is action-packed, and you will benefit from the following:
- Take part in an action-packed week of activities, which includes a 3-day residential trip away to Featherstone Castle near Haltwhistle, such as gorge walking, mine exploring, raft building, canoeing, rock climbing, weaselling, a mountain climb, search and rescue and orienteering.
- You'll get the chance to try subjects that you are interested in, such as; Construction, Equine, Animal Care, Media and lots more. Once you have found the subject you most like, you can apply for the next level at college in September!
- Make a positive difference in your community by working together on a group project.
- Three weeks’ work experience in an area that interests you.
- Earn a nationally recognised qualification and develop key skills that support your work readiness.
- You will leave with a CV and have the interview skills you need to be successful.
