Inclusive Learning Transition Taster Event - Peterlee
If you are planning on joining our Inclusive Learning Department's Foundation Studies Programme or Derwent Autism Provision this September, we would like to invite you to come along to our 3-day Transition Taster Event running from Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th July 2025.
Foundation Studies is comprised of a bespoke curriculum that promotes independent living, community inclusion, health and wellbeing, and employment opportunities. It will be suited to anyone with disabilities, learning difficulties, or difficulty managing emotions and behaviour. Our courses support you with progression by providing you with the skills needed in adulthood, specifically aimed at greater independence, supported living, and work-related learning.
What To Expect At The Event
Our transition event and taster days are a key part of our welcome, designed for those joining us in September.
We work closely with schools and parents to transition students into college who may find the move daunting and these events are designed as the important next step in that process.
They will also help our staff better understand your individual needs and what kind of additional support you may need to be successful at college. You can also ask all the questions you might have too.
We are planning for new starters to receive their timetable during their taster/transition week. However, if this is not possible they will receive it during the August enrolment day.
Already Applied?
If you have already applied, our Student Services Team will be in touch to invite you to this event nearer the time.
If you've not applied, you can do that by going to our foundations studies section or the Derwent Autism Provision section of the website.
