What To Expect At the College Experience Night
As the name suggests, this night is all about you actually experiencing college for the first time!
On the night, students can attend a one hour session in the course area they're interested in. They'll get to directly see the area they'll be studying in, interact with our lecturers, meet other students also interested in the course and get a real flavour for what life as an East Durham College student is really like!
While the students are off experiencing college, parents and carers will be well looked after too! Our team will be running a presentation where they'll tell you all about the campus, student life, finances, bus travel and more, making it an ideal way to answer any questions you might have.
There will be time after the session for students to ask our lecturers any questions they may have.
Which Course Areas Are Available At This Event?
At this particular event, lecturers from the following courses will be available:
- Electro-Technical Technology
- Engineering & Manufacturing
- Motor Vehicle Maintenance
- Plumbing & Heating Engineering
- Welding
Please note: This event is for all our vocational courses offered at The Technical Academy. If you are interested in A Levels at ED6 or our vocational courses at Peterlee campus or Houghall campus, please come along to one of their events. Check out the Events section >> to see their next event.
To take part in the session, please arrive before 5:30pm to help us get you to the right course area.
No appointments are needed for the event. Just rock up on the night and we'll get you sorted. We're nice like that.

If you have already applied, our Student Services team will write to you to invite you along to our College Experience evening and send you a text reminder nearer the time.
Not Yet Applied?
We highly recommend applying for the course you're interested in before attending our open evening. If you don't, that's not a problem - we'll just ask you to fill in an application form while you're with us on the night.
