Our Come to College interview evenings are the best way to get all the information about the course you are interested in, see our facilities and learn more about what Houghall has to offer!

What to Expect at the Come to College Event

You don't need an appointment to attend this event, please arrive between 5pm-6:30pm and we'll get you sorted!

We get it. Coming to college is a HUGE decision. There are loads of choices, and if you're coming from school, it can be hard to pick what you want to do.

That's where our Come to College interview nights come in!

The event works like this: you'll be greeted on arrival by one of our friendly team members, who'll either find your application information, or ask you to quickly scribble some details down for us on an application form.

Once that's done, we'll organise a one-to-one chat with lecturer(s) from course(s) you are interested in. Our lecturers are absolutely the best people to speak to about your course; they live and breathe this stuff every day, so they'll tell you what to expect, what grades you'll need and answer any questions you might have about the course and college.

You'll also get the chance to look at some of our amazing facilities here at the college during your visit.

If you are unsure about your career path, that is absolutely okay! We can schedule a meeting with one of our Careers Advisors who will discuss your hobbies, interests, strengths and future goals with you. Based on this discussion, they will recommend a few different courses for you to consider.

So to sum up, you'll can do all of this at our Come to College events:

  • Talk directly with the people who will be teaching you. We call it an interview, but it's nothing as scary as a real job interview! It's just an informal chat with our lecturers, who'll be able to advise you on everything you need to know about the course, and what to expect once you start!
  • Get expert careers advice and guidance.
  • Take a look around the college's amazing facilities.
  • Find out about financial support and our completely FREE bus travel service on ANY Arriva bus.
  • Chat to our learning support team, who are available to discuss any additional needs learners may have while they're at college.
