The main focus of the level 1 carpentry and joinery course is to develop practical hand skills and enhance basic underpinning knowledge of relevant industrial processes and techniques.
The EPQ offers the chance for A Level students at ED6 to gain real independence, resilience and maturity as learner, while pursuing any topic of your choosing. It is equivalent to 50% of an A Level and is well regarded by universities as evidence that the transition from college to university will be a smooth one and may be taking in to consideration in their conditional offer or provide additional UCAS point.
The purpose is to introduce basic Carpentry and Joinery skills and knowledge to those who have either no, or very little, prior experience. This is a DIY Carpentry and Joinery course delivered over 9 weeks, 3 hours each session (Tuesday and Thursday) and is aimed at adults aged 19+ who have an interest in improving their home.
