Learn the fundamentals of producing music with this part-time course at our Peterlee campus!
Our L1 Music Technology course will provide you with an introduction to the knowledge and technical skills required in music production.
The course is very hands-on, and you'll learn the basics of studio recording, effectively use different microphones to record live audio and also use digital audio software to record and mix your own tracks.

The programme will consist of 4 units:
Assisting with recording studio operations?Sound Effects in Music Production
Microphones in music production
Using Audio Editing Software
Further study options after this course
Upon completion of this course, the ideal next step would be to progress on to the Level 2 Certificate in Music Technology - this will develop and further skills within music production.
Entry requirements
This is a part-time course exclusively available for adults above the age of 19.
There are no prior entry requirements for this course other than an interest in music production!
How is this course assessed?
The work produced by learners will be in the form of a portfolio - there will be no exams. The portfolio could include worksheets, assignments, folders of music produced during the course.
When does the course start?
This course is due to start on October 29th and will run on a Tuesday evening, 5-8:30PM.
