Ascentis Level 3 Access to HE Diploma (Radiography)

Access to Radiography diploma is designed for you, if you have no formal qualifications, to prepare, in one year, for entry into an honours degree course in Diagnostic Imaging or in Radiotherapy and Oncology Science.

You will complete several study skills units throughout the year these are ungraded and are assessed only as pass or fail
Main units studied are in Biology and Chemistry are graded units and assessed as Pass, Merit or Distinction
Biology units include:
- Cell Biology and Anatomy and Physiology
- Genetics
- Pharmacology, Biomolecules and Biochemistry
- Laboratory Research project
Chemistry units include:
- Chemistry basics from GCSE
- Core Chemistry Principles
- Organic Chemistry and Organic Analysis Techniques

If you do no wish to progress to university you could apply for jobs in:

Radiography Assistant in the NHS
Imaging Support Workers in the NHS
Health Care Science Assistant

You could apply for degrees in your chosen universities in the following areas:
Diagnostic Imaging
Radiotherapy
Radiography
Oncology Science.
Biomedical science
Biochemistry
Paramedic Science
Optometry - Diagnostic Optician
Physiotherapy amongst many others in the science field

L2 or GCSE Maths and English

Formal controlled assessments in some units
Essays in some units
Written reports in some units
Assignments in all units
At any one time you will be working on multiple assignments however, deadlines are staggered throughout the year
