Always dreamed of working in the animal sector, but never took the opportunity? Now is the time - come and find out more about how our Foundation Degree in Animal Management course, in association with the University of Sunderland, can help you to get your start in exciting careers from zoology to marine biology.

About the Event

This event has been exclusively created to give adults a taste of what to expect from our Higher Education animal programme at our Houghall campus, in Durham.

It's ideal for anyone looking to retrain who'd love to work with animals, and with support for funding your course available, as well as our stunning facilities and highly-experienced higher education team, there's no better place to study this course than right here at Houghall.

The event will take place at our specialist HE building, The Hive, at our Houghall campus in Durham.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00 to 9:30AM - Arrival and Welcome
  • 10AM to 12PM - Animal Unit Placement. Refine your practical animal skills at our multi-million-pound animal care unit, home to over 70 different species of animal
  • 12PM-1PM - FREE lunch provided by college in The Hive Common Room
  • 1PM-3PM - Bioblitz activity. Take in the sights of our stunning Houghall campus to see what wonderful biodiversity we have right here on campus. Make sure you bring your phone with you!
  • 3:30PM-4PM - Q&A session. Have all your questions on funding your course to what you'll be studying with this session.
