Our College Hairdressing Salon Facilities
At EDC, we have a dedicated commercial hair salon that's open to the public. This means that you won't just be practising on mannequins and wigs - you'll get real, working experience of what it's like to work in a salon during your time with us.
Links with various hairdressing suppliers help us to provide you with the latest equipment and products, simulating a realistic salon environment.
The salon itself includes everything you'd expect from a commercial salon, including workstations with adjustable chairs, large-size mirrors and sinks for washing hair.
Alongside our salon facilities, hairdressing and barbering students also work in large-size professional workshops, where our tutors will help you to hone your skills.
Hone Your Craft in Competitions & Training
Want to show off your skills? As well as gaining knowledge through your tuition, we also offer a great enrichment and events programme as part of your hairdressing and barbering course.
We regularly encourage our students to compete in different competitions during the college year and many previous students have gone on to win prestigious competitions both regionally and at a national level.
Due to our excellent links with industry, we're able to provide training sessions and masterclasses with experienced external hairdressers and barbers too.
Industry Links
Our strong links with the industry allow us to monitor and cascade emerging trends to students, allowing them to develop their skills further with organisations like TONI&GUY and Rusk Training.
Full time students are given the opportunity to attend one-day-a-week work placements, leading in many cases to employment.
