You must NOT live in an area of England with a devolved local authority (Local Government Association) to be able to study on a part time course with us for FREE. Your postcode will be checked upon application to ensure you are eligible for funding to study for free with East Durham College before we can enrol you onto your chosen course.

You must be:

  • Aged 19 or over before the start of the academic year (1st August) in which you wish to study
  • Lived in the UK continuously for 3 years
  • Not to have completed the course before
  • Not live in an area of England with a devolved government (this will be checked by our team upon application)*

East Durham College has a commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for our Learners, Staff and visitors and therefore requires all Learners applying for a place to disclose any unspent convictions. Please note that any convictions considered spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 should not be disclosed. Disclosing convictions will not exclude you from enrolling on a course at East Durham College, however the information may be used when considering your application and/or the College may require further information from you in order to assist with the decision making process. East Durham College reserves the right to reject an application or enrolment as a result of a criminal conviction when taking into consideration the College's responsibilities and rights in the circumstances.
