Course overview
More than 1 in every 100 people in the UK have an autism diagnosis. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of the condition, and the challenges and strengths that autistic people may experience. You will learn about characteristics, diagnosis and how understanding and different theories surrounding autism have developed over time. Within this qualification, the term ‘autism’ is used as an umbrella term for all autistic spectrum conditions, including Asperger syndrome.

This 15 week online course gives the learner the chance to develop their knowledge and understanding of Autism, and how to support those who have been diagnosed with Autism. This Level 3 course could lead towards career opportunities such as;
• Learning Mentor (£14,500 to £25,000)
• Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant (£12,577 to £23,000)
• Youth Worker (£18,000 to £33,000)

How is this course assessed?
This course is only available online via our eLearning Assessor portal, it is not available in paper format.
• we'll process your enrolment, and a tutor will be assigned to support you through your course, their contact details are in the joining instruction email
• an email containing your joining instructions will be sent, this email will contain your start and end date, submission dates. You will be advised of the weblink and your unique username for you to log into the e-assessor portal.
• if you need any guidance on your course content please contact your tutor direct.
• you will receive text reminders throughout your course
• your feedback from your tutor will either be online via e-assessor (located in my portfolio)
When does the course start?
The course starts when you have received your joining instruction email containing your start, submission target dates and tutor contact details.
Length of course
You have 15 weeks from enrolling to complete your course, this duration includes tutor feedback, internal verification and processing and your first assessment is due within 6 weeks of your start date.
