Step 1: Matching You with the Right Golf Greenkeeping Apprentices
Choosing East Durham College means you get to benefit from our in-house recruitment service.
Once you've gave us an idea of what you're looking for in your apprentice, we'll get started advertising your vacancy on our website. We'll pre-screen any applicants for you, and consult our bank of previous applicants if we feel any of them might be the right fit for the role.
We'll invite any new applicants in for their initial interview and skills assessment, used to determine their suitability for the role. Then, once we think we've found the right people, it's over to you!
You can organise their next interviews at your premises, where we hope you'll find the perfect golf greenkeeping apprentice for you and your business!
But that’s not all from us – this is just the stage one. EDC are your partner throughout the apprenticeship, and our service doesn’t stop with recruitment. That’s why we say we’re big enough to deliver and small enough to care.
Step 2: Supporting Your Golf Greenkeeping Apprentice(s)
Now you've found the perfect apprentice, it's time to get them training.
As the employer, you'll be responsible for ensuring you and your workforce train up your apprentice, improving their skills and knowledge in golf greenkeeping.
You'll receive regular support from the apprenticeship team here at East Durham College too!
Each apprentice is assigned their own coach/trainer, who will make visits to your premises - observing both you and your apprentice.
All apprentices also complete a weekly day release, where they'll be expected to attend training on campus at East Durham College.
Step 3: Apprentice to Full-Time Staff Member
We hope that you're impressed enough with your apprentice that once their training is over, you're ready to take them on as a full-time employee!
After all, by the end of their apprenticeship, they will have gained plenty of new skills and know everything there is to know about your business.
