Our Foundation Studies programme is a supportive, inclusive and exciting post-16 provision providing support and development for learners with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. At Peterlee, learners can access our vocational programmes including catering, performing arts, media and more.

Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery focuses on developing practical hand skills and enhancing basic underpinning knowledge of relevant industrial processes and techniques.

Our Derwent Autism Provision supports learners with Autism with a personalised programme for every learner, designed to ensure that learner's growth and development while they study at our Houghall campus.

The purpose is to introduce basic Carpentry and Joinery skills and knowledge to those who have either no, or very little, prior experience. This is a DIY Carpentry and Joinery course delivered over 12 weeks, 3 hours each session (Thursdays) and is aimed at adults aged 19+ who have an interest in improving their home or might be interested in progressing onto our full time course.
