367 Minutes of meeting Nov 2023

The Committee approved the minutes of the meeting held on 9th November 2023.

368 Matters Arising

There were no matters arising. Main focus of the November Committee was SAR Validation which was then discussed at Full Board in December 2023. 

369 Outcomes of Internal and External Peer Review Activities

The Assistant Principal Performance and the Director of Quality presented the report to the committee and summarised the key points from each review.

The committee noted the update on internal and external peer review activity. 

370 Curriculum Key Performance Indicators

The Vice Principal Curriculum and Performance presented the report which was confidential. 

The Committee noted the updated information in relation to key curriculum and quality KPIs and the actions taken to improve academic performance. 

371 Progress Report on Quality Improvement Plan 2023-24

The Vice Principal Curriculum and Performance presented the report to the committee and summarised the key points for the committee to note. 

The Committee noted the progress made by the college against the Quality Improvement Plan’s aims. 

372 Minutes of Higher Education Group

The Vice Principal Curriculum and Performance advised that this meeting was extremely well attended by learners and that it has been a challenge previously to have good learner representation. Feedback was rich and generally positive. 

In response to a governor’s question relating to the contact issues with university, the Vice Principal Curriculum and Performance advised that there was a new structure at the university in terms of partnerships and the college was dealing with different people and reforming the relationship. The college was not aware of these issues until it was raised at the meeting, and there has since been a review around enrolment and induction and the issues have been addressed.
