The minutes of the meeting were approved as a correct record.

386 SAR Validation & Quality Improvement Plan

Quality Improvement Plans 2023/24

The Vice Principal Curriculum and Quality highlighted that overall progress against the QIP is good and of the five actions, progress against four actions was good and one was satisfactory.

Following discussion the Committee noted the final position for the 2023/24 Quality Improvement Plan.

Self-Assessment Report 2023/24

The committee suspended its business in order for governors, staff, and external guests to discuss the Self-Assessment Report for 2023/24.

Following robust discussion and challenge on the SAR, the committee reconvened.

387 Committee Recommendations and Conclusion

The committee recommended that judgment overall would remain at good and that provision in all areas was good other than personal development, behaviour and attitudes and apprentices which were judged outstanding.  The committee noted in particular that the College received a full Ofsted inspection in May 2024 which confirmed these outcomes and grades.

 Overall effectiveness: Good 

Quality of education: good

Behaviour and Attitudes: outstanding

Adult learning programmes: good

Provision for learners with high needs: good

Leadership and Management: good

Personal Development: outstanding

Education programmes for young people: good

Apprenticeships: outstanding

The committee also endorsed the skills measure as strong.

The committee recommended the SAR and QIP to the board
