Peterlee HE and Access to HE Open Evening

clock
23 Apr 2026
clock
5:00pm - 7:00pm

This event gives you a taste of what to expect from our Access and Higher Education programmes at our Peterlee campus.

  • It’s ideal for A Level students, Level 3 Health and Social Care, Sport or related subject students, or anyone looking to retrain for a career supporting others.
  • You will need to already have a grade 4 or higher in GCSE maths and English.

Find out about courses that could lead you into a career in health, social care, sport coaching or counselling.

Courses:

New course in Health and Social Care coming soon (subject to approval).

Our Foundation Degrees are university-level qualifications in their own right, equivalent to the first two years of an Honours degree. Course delivery is in partnership with the University of Sunderland and the qualification you'll receive will be from the University of Sunderland.

Once you’ve got a Foundation Degree, it’s possible to top up your qualification to a full Honours degree. This usually involves an extra year studying full-time (or the part-time equivalent) at the University of Sunderland.

Access to HE (Higher Education)

Our Level 3 Access to HE programmes are not Higher Education courses, but they are an option for adults (aged 19 or over) to get a qualification which is specifically designed to get you into university if you currently don't have the qualifications needed, such as A Levels or a Level 3 Diploma.

  • Level 3 Access to Higher Education Health Pathway
  • Level 3 Access to Higher Education Social Work Pathway

Level 3 Access to Higher Education >>

We will be joined by experts from the University of Sunderland to share advice on finance for Cert HE and Foundation degrees.
