Course overview
The Level 3 is a Technical Level Qualification for students wishing to specialise in the automotive sector as a motor vehicle diagnostic technician. Learners studying this qualification will receive specialist knowledge and skills, enabling them to go into employment or an advanced apprenticeship in vehicle maintenance and repair or progression to a higher education course. It will be taught by an Audi master technician and an experienced motor sport technician with more than 45 combined years of experience. The programme will consist of all aspects of diagnostic and rectification of vehicle systems.

Further study options after this course
This qualification will prepare you to become a light vehicle service technician and work at an independent garage, a large manufacturer or even in your own business. These skills will ensure your capability to work with minimum supervision, have a good record of safety and fault correction, and that your work meets the required standard. It will also prepare them to become a MOT tester.

Online multiple choice tests and practical assessments in the vehicle workshop.

Length of course
1 Year, Full Time.
50% of the program delivered in a classroom environment. 50% in the workshop. Students will be required to carry out independent learning using IT resources made available to them.
This full time study programme courses may also be available to study on a part-time basis if you are aged 18 or over on 31st August. Please check with Student Services for more details.
