Course overview

This exciting new T level has been developed in conjunction with employers and experts in the animal management and behaviour industry to ensure you learn the skills and knowledge to progress to a rewarding career in the animal sector. Taught at our stunning land-based campus, with on-site modern animal unit and college farm, you will develop practical skills working with over 70 different species, in addition to trips and visits to zoos and other animal collections.

This is a 2 year course, equivalent to three A levels.

Alongside your course you will undertake a 45 day Industry Placement with one of our fantastic industry partners, meaning you will be work ready AND have the option of progressing to university if you wish to take your passion further.

This qualification prepares you for a number of hands on roles in animal management including:
• Animal behaviourist/trainer
• Animal welfare/rescue/care technician
• Dog walker/pet sitter
• Trainee zookeeper
• Trainee veterinary nurse
• Dog handle

You will also be well prepared to work in many of the roles in businesses which support the industry via the supply chain - eg animal feeds, pet store management.
